All Cheats
Although we have all of the cheats listed here already, they can be unlocked for selection automatically when certain conditions are met in-game. First, you must achieve a first place finish in all of the global events, which will bring you to one last head-to-head race. Global License

Reach the part of the game where Niko and Roman have a safehouse in South Bohan. In the house on the left of the table near the television is a pile of books. The middle purple book of a stack of three is titled “Madness & Blasphemy: The Do’s and Dont’s”. This is an reference to the movie 300 where in the “This is Sparta!” scene, the lines “This is blasphemy! This is madness!” are spoken.

A Revenger’s Tragedy
The final mission “A Revenger’s Tragedy” is a reference to the play and movie based on the play titled The Revenger’s Tragedy.

Annihilator helicopter
Kill all 200 pigeons. The Annihilator is armed with rockets.

Avoid toll booths
Use any emergency vehicle, turn on the sirens, and drive (speed does not matter). The booth attendant will open the gate and you will have saved $5.

Bowling alley logo
During the bowling date with Michelle, when you enter the bowling alley notice the neon bowling alley sign. Look closely to see that it resembles male genitalia.

Bowling: Easy strikes
Select the first lane (all the way to the left). Take two full steps to the left. Hold Right Analog-stick Down for about a half second, then press Right Analog-stick Up. Do not add any aftertouch to the throw.

Calling a taxi
In order to call a taxi, position Niko near traffic, preferably somewhere on the sidewalk. Spot a cab and press L1. Niko will automatically call out for a taxi. It is also possible to order a taxi with the cell phone if you have problems spotting one. Additionally, Niko can eventually earn the ability to call a limo as you progress in the game.

Calling emergency vehicles
Dial “911″ on your cellphone. You will reach a voice menu that will allow you to call the police by dialing “1″, an ambulance by dialing “2″, or a fire truck by dialing “3″. Select the vehicle of your choice and wait for them to arrive. The will stop and look around for the emergency, allowing you to easily steal their vehicle.

Calling for backup
Steal a police car and any time you are in trouble press L1 while your car is stationary. Select “Call For Backup” and within minutes you will have to cruisers full of police who will fight on your side unless you shoot someone.

Carbine rifle
Use a helicopter or boat, or simply swim to reach Happiness Island. Go inside the first door of the Statue Of Happiness. There will be a security guard with a carbine rifle. Kill him with your pistol and take the rifle.

Cell phone passwords

At any time during the game, pull out Niko’s phone and dial these numbers for the desired effect.

Cheat The Guys At The Toll Booth
If you happen to be riding a bike before you come up to the toll booth, aim towards the gap in the middle. It leads right behind the 2 guys in the booths, so you won’t be seen and you’ve saved yourself $5! Hooray for the cheapskates!

Claude outfit
Kill Playboy X and get his penthouse. Save the game and restart the system. When you reload your saved game, flip through your outfits and you should have Claude’s outfit (the main character in Grand Theft Auto 3). Everything from the leather jacket, the green cargos, and the black shoes with the white stripe on the bottom should be there.

Completion bonuses

All of the following tasks must be completed to achieve a 100% completion rating.

Cop names
During the intermission sequence for the “I’ll Get Her” mission, look closely behind Gerry Mcreary. There is a whiteboard for shift changes for the prison guards. Some of their names are Phil McCrevis (feel my crevice) and Richard Head (dick head).

Current music information
Dial ZIT-555-0100 on your cellphone to get a text message listing the title and artist of the music currently playing.

Dating
You can date people from the in-game Internet. When looking at their profile click “Date”. You then have to wait a few in-game days for a negative or positive reply via email. If your date accepts, reply to their email and meet them.

Easy 360s
Gain some speed in a car and hold [Handbrake] until you have completed a full 180. Just before you complete the 180, release [Handbrake] and hold [Brake], which will spin you the next 180 degrees. Obviously you will end up facing the direction you were before the attempt. However, some vehicles cannot do this. Also with some vehicles holding [Brake] will spin you back the way you came while using the handbrake, resulting in back-to-back 180s.

Easy headshots
It is sometimes difficult to get headshots, which do count in this game. With some practice, the following is an easy way to always get them. Press [Auto-Aim] then use the Right Analog-stick to move the auto-aim target around your victim’s body. Barely move the Right Analog-stick as you are shooting. This puts bullets in the chest and head, and results in an easy instant kill.

Easy money
Go to an ATM and cause a traffic jam to that area. Wait for someone to withdraw money from the ATM, then kill that person. Block any nearby roads so that the ambulance reach your victim. Take the money they dropped on the ground then run a short distance away. Return to the scene and the money should have respawned on the ground. You can repeat this as many times as desired. You can also kill more people and take their money from the ATM to increase the amount of money that respawns.

Easy money
Go to an ATM, then cause a traffic jam to the area. Wait for someone to take money from the ATM, then kill him or her. Make sure to block any nearby roads so the ambulance cannot get to the murdered victim. Take the money they dropped on the ground. Then, run a short distance away, and go back. The money should have respawned on the ground. You can repeat this as many times as desired. You can also kill more people taking their money from the ATM to increase the amount of money that respawns.

Fast taxi travel
To avoid wasting time driving all the way across the city, call a taxi. They will take you to your destination for your mission, stores, safehouses, or even a waypoint marker. You can skip through the taxi ride, allowing you to travel across the entire city in about ten seconds. This can also be done during missions.

Fire Truck Madness
If you boost a fire truck, press the fire button while driving around. This will allow you to shoot the super-powerful water cannon at anyone around you. Watching people react to getting shot with high-speed water is hilarious.

Floating Car Get a boat and head out to the ocean, when you get there spawn a car by using the car cheats. The boat should disappear and a car should float above you.Friend in hospital
If a friend gets run over by an NPC on the way to see you, you will only be able to get his voice mail. A few in-game days later he will call, asking to be picked up from the hospital.

Friendship Perks
To unlock the perks of friendship with any given person below, reach the friendship level listed.

Brucie - Brucie likes to bowl, drink, eat, go to strip clubs, shows, helirides and boating. If you get his friendship level up to 70%, you can call Brucie and he’ll dispatch a helicopter to your location, allowing you to utilize it as you’d like.

Dwayne - Dwayne likes to go to strip clubs, eat, drink, go to shows and bowl. If you get his friendship level up to 60%, you can call Dwayne and he’ll send you a car full of gang members that will follow you and help you out as you need them.

Little Jacob - Little Jacob likes to play darts, go to shows, play billiards, drink, eat, and go to strip clubs. If you get his friendship level up to 70%, you can call Little Jacob and he’ll drive a car to your location full of guns that you can purchase from him.

Packie - Packie likes to go to strip clubs and shows, play darts, drink, bowl and play billiards. If you get his friendship level up to 75%, you can call Packie and he’ll make you a potent car bomb that you can use as you need it.

Roman - Roman likes to go bowling, play darts, go drinking, eat, play billiards, go to shows and to strip clubs. If you get his friendship level up to 60%, you can call Roman and he’ll send you a free cab to use anywhere in the city.

Frozen system
If your PlayStation3 freezes when trying to play the game, try the following to fix the problem. Sign out of PlayStation Network either by canceling the sign in process before it can be completed under the Network option on the Cross Media Bar, or going to “Settings”, then “Network Settings”, then “Internet Connection” and disabling your current connection.

Funny GPS
Steal a luxury car with a GPS with a female voice. She sometimes makes the “bing bong” notification sound herself while giving directions. For example, “At 100 yards, turn left.” At the junction, she would say “bing bong” instead of an actual beep.

Get full pistol and shotgun early
The following is an easy way to start the game with full pistol and shotgun ammo. Unlock the ability to save by sleeping on the bed in Roman’s home. Getting the knife is also helpful. Go outside Roman’s home and kill a few people. The police will appear. Kill a police officer. He will drop his gun. Take it then immediately run into Roman’s home and sleep on the bed. You can choose to save the game if desired. When you wake up, your wanted level will be down, and you will still have the pistol. Go back outside and kill more pedestrians. When the cops appear, run up the stairs. Turn around at the top of the stairs and face the door going outside of Roman’s home. The cops will come through that door and you can just pick them off with your new pistol. Watch your health and do not worry about picking up the guns. If your health gets low you can sleep on the bed. Wake up, and when you go outside there will be lots of weapons. The shotgun will take longer because not every cop uses it. However if you enter the police cars that have been abandoned outside the apartments you can easily get five shells for the shotgun for each different car you enter.

Get inside the Alderny Correctional Facility
Steal a helicopter, and fly over the top of the prison. Land on the basketball courts to avoid getting a wanted level. After entering the prison you can see prisoners talking with each other, eating on the benches, a crazy prisoner, and correctional officers on patrol.

Getting away from the police
When running away from the cops, you will have a circular area in which they look for you. However, if you get out and another cop sees you, it changes. To use this to your advantage, get barely out of that circle which you will see on your radar. Just sit there for about five seconds instead of flooring past it.

Grand Theft Auto 3
In the first mission, when you give Roman a ride to a betting shop, on the other side of the road that is a shop called “Mr. Wong’s”, which is reference to Mr. Wong in Grand Theft Auto 3. Also, there are Furgons in the city.

GTA3 Outfit
Later in the game, you’ll be given an option to kill Dwayne or Playboy X. If you kill Playboy X, you can use his loft and change clothes there. Amongst your change of clothes will be the outfit from GTA3 — a tight black jacket and green cargo pants.

Holland Nights: Easy escape path
As you are going up the stairs to chase Clarence, you will see a green health kit. Do not take it. Continue after Clarence and follow the advice of McCleary about not using your weapon until you are on the second floor; otherwise, Clarence will just get into a vehicle and leave. If you wait until you are on the second floor, he will climb to the roof. After you have chosen the Clarence’s fate, you automatically have a three star wanted level regardless of what you selected. You must battle your way out. Because you are going down, you have a distinct disadvantage in cover and will take lots of damage. To give yourself an edge, at the start of the mission park a fast car on the street near the opening in the gate. Do not pull up to the gate. Use the stairs to your right to give chase. Once you have gotten to the roof and chosen his fate, descend to the level with the first aid kit (green box). Because you left it there on your way up, you will know what level you are on and can power up. Go to the side of the building where your car is parked and jump over the railing. Upon landing, you will not lose much health. Sprint to your car and get away from the cops. If done correctly, you should not take a single bullet from police. The health pack is a requirement to survive the fall.

Karate pedestrian
At the bottom area of Broker is a beach. Continue to the edge nearest to Algonquin to see a pedestrian practicing karate.

Keeping more cars
At the start of the game it would appear that you can only save two cars parked in the “Residents Parking Only” parking spaces in front of your safe house. However if you can find other “Residents Parking Only” places around the city, you can also save cars there even if you do not have a safe house at those locations yet.

Launch up stairs
When walking or running up stairs, jump at the first step to skip or sometimes launch yourself up the stairs.

Losing the Cops
No matter the extent of your wanted level, if you can make it back to one of your safe houses and go to your bed to save, the cops will be automatically called off. You don’t even have to actually save, you can just access the save menu and then cancel out. As long as you reach this menu, then you won’t have to worry about the cops chasing you once you go back outside.

Map locations
Enter “www.whattheydonotwantyoutoknow.com” password into the in-game computers. You will get Weapon, health, armor, vehicle, pigeon, ramp/stunt, and entertainment locations.

Mid-air cars
When in a helicopter, preferably the police one, enable a code to spawn a car. The car will either float in the air motionless, fall at high speeds, or hit your rotor and spin off.

Niko in a bra
To wear a bra, go to the clothes store called Modo and walk up to the cashier. If it is the female cashier this trick will work. Knife the cashier and stand over her body for one game hour. Travel back to Roman’s apartment and go over to the wardrobe. You should now have an option to wear a bra. Wearing the bra will change NPC dialogue, and they will start saying things to you like “What the hell are you wearing man?!”.

No helmet on motorcycle
Use the following trick to ride a motorcycle without Niko wearing a helmet. Tap the Triangle at any point during the animation where he puts the helmet on, but before the helmet actually appears. Doing this cancels the animation and Niko will not wear his helmet. If you wait too long and press that button after the helmet has appeared in Niko’s hand it will still cancel the animation, but the helmet will immediately appear on Niko’s head.

Point Break
Play Packie’s mission “Three Leaf Clover”. While Michael is watching the hostages, one of the men on the floor turns to a man next to him and lets him know that he is a member of a gun club and when the time is right they will fight back. When Michael is distracted, the man stands up, shoots Michael, then in turn is killed by Packie and his brother. This is a reference to the bank heist in the movie Point Break.

Police database
Use a computer at a TW@ Internet Cafe to go to the Liberty City Police Department site at “www.libertycitypolice.com”. Click the “Database” tab at the bottom of the home page to get information on all characters, including Roman and Niko.

Prank phone calls
Take note of phone numbers on graffiti or ads on buildings on in the subway. Call those numbers on Niko’s cellphone to make a prank phone call.

Radio in an annihilator First spawn an annihiliator (395-555-0100) then when you are in it use the restore health cheat (482-555-0100) then keep tapping left or right, soon the annihilator will allow you to change the radio station!Rastah Color Huntley SUV
Complete 10 Package Delivery missions.

Ratman
Walk in the darkest parts of the subway and you might find someone called “Ratman”. When you get close to him he will say said he is Ratman but will then run very fast down the subway. You will not be able to catch up with him.

Red Dead Revolver
Watch the Weazel and CNT channels on the television at your hideout. You will see a commercial that uses scenes from Red Dead Revolver, which is another Rockstar game.

Regaining health during missions
You can leave the mission area and go to a Cluckin’ Bell, hotdog stand, etc, and eat food to replenish your health if you are low and cannot find a health pack. This works effectively on missions where there Are no health packs in sight. Note: You can also take a taxi to those locations during missions.

Remove ammunition limit
Get a 100% game completion.

Roadside assistance
If your vehicle breaks down and cannot start, call 911. Your engine should start again.

Statue of Happiness Shirt
Head over to the Statue of Happiness and climb up as far as you can go. Head around the left side of the statue from where you entered. When you do this, the game will pause briefly and load a new shirt that your character will be wearing, a nice souvenir for visiting the statue!

Staying on trucks
Once you jump on a truck keep tapping the [Jump] and Niko will stay on. Note this does not work all the time, and if he falls he loses a small amount of health.

Strip club: Lap dance duet
Go to the strip club and reserve a lap dance. After the performance is done she will ask if you want another, accept twice and she will bring in another girl into the room for a duet.

Swim under city
Go to the north part of the map, just northwest of Butterfly Street in Bohan. Once there, get down to the outskirts of the land and walk towards the corner between the brick wall and the cliff. You can walk through the invisible wall. Lookup towards the city to see the city from below. You can also continue onwards and swim under the city.

The Brown Note
Near Faustin’s house is a reference to a legendary musical note. If you are in the area, proceed to the dead end about a block away towards the water. Hop over the fence on your left while facing the water and a man should be sitting on a bench reading a book titled “The Brown Note”. Musician’s joke that this is a note that when played causes bowel movements by the person playing it.

The Heart of Liberty City
First, you’ll have to have access to Happiness Island. Once you’re able to go there legally, find the Helicopter Tours (which is directly east of Happiness Island) and steal a helicopter. Fly to Happiness Island and over the Statue of Liberty, then jump out of the helicopter at the statue’s feet. You should land on the topmost tier of the statue, which is basically a square platform with a door in the center of each side. Run around the platform until you see a door with a plaque on either side of it that reads, “No Hidden Content Here.” It may seem like you cannot go through the door, but you can– it doesn’t open, you simply walk THROUGH the door. Inside, you’ll find an empty room with a tall ladder. Climb it, and when you reach the top, look up; there is a gigantic beating heart, held in place by chains.

Versus
The numbers on blue armored prison transport truck are KSC-303, which is a reference to the main character of the Japanese film Versus, who is known as Prisoner KSC2-303.

Very easy money Go to Alderney and find a securicar (green and white armored van), then use an RPG to blow it up then there will be alot of money around the the blown up car, you have to quickly collect it or it will start to disappear and watch out for the fire.World Of Warcraft
In the in-game Internet at a TW@ Internet cafe, visit “www.myonlineme.com” or “www.myonlineme.net” to see a parody of World Of Warcraft. “myonlineme” is shortened to MOM which is WOW (World Of Warcraft) upside down.

Zombie costume
In ranked online multi-player mode, either reach rank 2 or kill a Rockstar employee. Bring up the cellphone menu, select “Multiplayer”, then scroll down to “Player model” and select it. Press L1 to access a costume that turns you into a zombie wearing just Rockstar underwear.

“The Don Is Dead” mission
Before starting this mission, break the windows in the barber shop. This will allow for easy shooting once the Don is shot. The recommended gun for this and any other close range shooting mission is the magnum.

Ammunition
All the safe houses that you pay for have ammo caches. When low on ammunition or health, you can go into these houses and restock. They are the orange houses on the map, and most are in hotels.

Assaulting warehouses
Before going on a warehouse assault have these items: pistol (full ammunition), Tommy gun (full ammunition), shotgun (full ammunition), magnum (full ammunition), molotovs (6), and about $25,000. When going to a warehouse, try to blow up the roadblocks. After that, stand there and shoot at oncoming gangsters with your pistol (headshots are essential). Then, go in to the warehouse area. Stand behind boxes and shoot the enemies with the pistol or magnum (again with headshots). Once you enter the warehouse, have either your shotgun or Tommy gun ready. Most enemies will have shotguns and Tommy guns. When you kill them, search for the owner. He will have puppeteer hands. Buy him out. Do not hit or injure him or you will not be able to buy him out and will have to use pressure. More than likely you will have also started a mob war. Do not bother looking for bombing business. Instead, check the map for the nearest FBI agent and bribe him. You may lose $3,000, but it is less risky. You will now have a warehouse and won a mob war at the same time.

Getting past barricades easily
When you go to a hub, warehouse, or compound with people and cars blocking your way, get a truck and run into the cars and people until it catches on fire. Then, finish off the other people that are still alive.

When you go to a hub, warehouse, or compound with people and cars blocking your way, stand close enough that you can lock-on to a person. Take either dynamite or a Molotov Cocktail and throw it. It will blow up the cars next to the people. Continue doing this until you have reached the hub, warehouse, or compound.

Avoid getting shot
When you are getting shot by another family or cop, grab someone nearby and use them as a shield. By doing this, you will not get hurt while being shot.

Easier car chases
When you are being chased by enemies in a car, let them drive up on your side. Usually they will come up near your rear on your left or right. Then, look ahead and lure them into an accident. Usually they will smash into something like oncoming traffic or a wall if timed correctly. They will eventually come back and catch up to you, but if you keep doing this they will eventually blow themselves up (because you cannot shoot out your car at them).

Easier driving
While driving, honk your horn constantly by pressing L3 to send other cars to the side of the road. Additionally, go to a police station and bribe the police chief. You can then steal the police car without any trouble. Press L3 to turn on the siren. Cars will now move out of your way.

Easier special kills
In missions where you have to kill an important figure in a certain way (such as pushing them off a roof or into a furnace), you can do this easier by luring the enemy over to the hazard you must use to kill them before fighting with them. Just avoid them and run over to the hazard. They will come over to you. Beat them up a little, but do not kill them completely. Then, grab them by holding L1 + R1, and swing them so they have their back to the hazard. Then, push forward with the Analog-sticks to shove them to their death.

Easy money
To get more money, take over as many businesses, warehouses, and rackets as possible before completing missions. By doing this you will get much more on payday, and money for important weapon upgrades.

To stop your money from going into some racket that will not pay off later, get the pressure up on the person you would normally buy out and he will instead pay you.

In missions where you raid an enemy gang’s operation (like a supplier or storefront racket), search the interior after completing the main objective for hidden stashes of money and ammunition. Most back rooms, closets, and rooftops contain hidden moneybags or weapon stashes.

Go to the police station in Brooklyn and bribe the chief, then rob the bank. When you get outside no one will shoot or chase you. Note: When bribing the chief make sure you have no heat.

To get easy money and respect, go to the Molotov Cocktail seller in Midtown. Look for hobos walking around, then shoot them. You will get a good amount of respect and money, but no heat.

When walking around the city, kill the homeless men you see from time to time. The majority of the time they will have $5,500 and you will get no heat.

Get on the freeway and about every ten seconds a warehouse truck should appear. Stop your car in front of it, get out, cause some damage, kill the bagmen, take the money, and keep driving. You can accumulate a lot of money quickly. Then, return to your safe house and deposit the money.

After you own the compounds, go to New Jersey. It is easier to travel through the Holland Tunnel. Go to the Stracci compound, then drive into the container park. Go far behind, where you will see a lot of containers. Step out, then you will see a lot of Stracci soldiers. Kill all of them, then go in to the maze. At the back, there are two boxes and another group of Straccis. Break open the box to find approximately $120,000. Then, run as fast as you can to your car before another bunch of Straccis appear. If they do appear, kill them all. In total you will get around $125,000. Note: You will need a lot of ammunition. They can be as strong as the sewer system bell-boys.

Different families have different incomes; the richest family is the Barzini (green) family followed by the Cuneo (red) family. The businesses that you take from these families pay out a lot more than the other two. Also, when you are taking over their business, do not forget to pick up the money they drop. When a Barzini (green) family member is killed, you can pick up at least $200 per person. However, when you take money from a Tattaglia (brown) family member, you will only get $15.

Enter the sewer system and find a crate containing money, which is guarded by a group of heavily armed bell-boys. The entrance to the sewer system is directly south of the westernmost Tattaglia warehouse on the Hell’s Kitchen Loop.

Execution styles
For the executions that require you to press R1, your enemy must be low enough on health for it to work. Only performing the execution styles on mobsters will count toward the execution achievements.

Back Of The Head execution: Use a pistol and stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1.

Barehanded Kneeling execution: Get your enemy on their knees by shooting them in the knee or beating them down. Then, without any weapons drawn, stand in front of your enemy. While they are still kneeling, lock onto them and press R1.

Barehanded Standing execution: Without any weapons drawn, stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1.

Between The Eyes execution: Use a revolver and stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1.

Blackhand execution: Kill your enemy with your fists without grabbing them.

Blackhand Grapple execution: Kill your enemy with your fists while grabbing them.

Bombs Away execution: Kill your enemy with dynamite, a bomb, an explosive barrel, or an explosive crate.

Bottle execution: Kill your enemy by throwing a bottle at them.

Chin Up execution: Use a 2×4 and stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1. 2×4s can be found by blowing up a burning barrel on the street.

Clavicle Crush execution: Use a tire iron and stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1.

Cocktail Hour execution: Kill your enemy with a Molotov.

Crooked Cop execution: Use a police baton and stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1.

Disarmed execution: Shoot your enemy in the shoulder to make them drop their weapon.

Double Play execution: Get your enemy on their knees by shooting them in the knee or beating them down. Then, use a baseball bat and stand in front of your enemy. While they are still kneeling, lock onto them and press R1.

Face-off execution: Get your enemy on their knees by shooting them in the knee or beating them down. Get directly in front of them while holding a shotgun. Lock on to them and press R1.

Foot In Mouth execution: Get your enemy on their knees by shooting them in the knee or beating them down. Get directly in front of them while holding a magnum. Lock on to them, then press R1.

Gut Shot execution: Use a shotgun and stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1.

Hard Head execution: Kill your enemy by slamming their head into a counter or other low object.

Hats Off execution: Get your enemy on their knees by shooting them in the knee or beating them down. Get directly in front of them while holding a pistol. Lock on to them and press R1.

You’re Out execution: Use a baseball bat and stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1. Note: There is a glitch with the onscreen message, which will call it a “Melee Standing Execution”.

Extorting businesses
If you are having trouble extorting business owners, try destroying some of their property and/or hold a gun to their face. For example, when you are trying to take over Good Eats in Brooklyn, you can hold a gun to the man’s face then reholster the gun and extort. If he refuses, simply draw your gun again, lock on, and hold it. Keep doing this until he caves in. Do not forget to reholster your gun to avoid accidentally shooting him. In another example, when you are trying to extort money from the hotel owner in Brooklyn, hold a gun to him twice, break the downstairs cupboard, then finally blow his safe before you beat him into submission. Always buy available rackets first. Take a trip around to either buy another racket or go around the block. Do not attack until you visit again, and instead of enemy soldiers you will find all your soldiers. By doing this you do not have to fight a bunch of enemies and get your vendetta up.

If you have not taken over all the businesses and rackets, wait until you have reached the “Don Of New York City” rank. You will be able to take over anything without having to smash anything up or “convince” the person that it is a good idea; they will just say “Yes” immediately.

Free pistol in “The Alley” mission
After you beat up the men and are told to locate your safehouse, follow the Don’s enforcer out of the alley and turn left. Walk down a short distance to the next alley on your left. There will be a thug standing there, staring at you. He will not attack, but if you beat him up he will drop a pistol, which is good for a first gun. You can use the pistol to get through the next few missions easier (before you are given a more powerfu gun by the mob).

Gun Upgrade Prices And Recommendations
The Street Sweeper is recommended because it has 100 bullets available and can kill in one shot. Another good gun to buy is the Colt Python. In close range it can kill in one shot, but it has poor shot power at long and medium range. The Assassin’s Pistol is also useful. When running, the pistol fires like any other pistol. However when you stand still it fires like a Tommy Gun.

Hidden money in “Death To The Traitor” mission
After placing the bomb in the upstairs of the bar, an enemy will suddenly open up the previously locked door at the top of the stairs. Quickly run into the hallway to find a massive stash of money bags. Do this quickly by sprinting, as you will not have much time to run downstairs and leave before the bomb explodes. Do not bother trying to open the second door in the hallway, because it is locked.

Infinite ammunition and $1 million
Reach the “Don Of New York City” rank at a 91.5% game completion to get one million dollars and unlimited ammunition for all of your guns only. Bombs, dynamite, and Molotov Cocktails are not unlimited, and melee weapons can still wear out. To become the Don, you must take over all businesses and rackets, then complete the contracts on the other families top Bosses.

Infinite money
Enter a hotel, nightclub, shop, etc. that you own. Smash the cash register and collect the money. Walk out the door, then walk back in. The cash register should be fixed. You can repeat the process as many times as desired. It is a slow way of getting money, but sometimes you will get $10,000.

Losing heat
When you have heat, go to another neighborhood. The heat level will go back to zero. However if you have cops tailing you they will continue to do so.

Losing police quickly
If you commit a lot of damage and/or kill a lot of people, you will get wanted stars. Once you get enough stars, the police will chase and shoot you. To lose them, just move to a different area and all of your stars will immediately go away.

Marlon Brando’s last appearance
Play the mission when you go to the hospital to protect the Don. After you kill the first assassin and Michael Corleone tells you to go to the basement, go foward and make a left. You should see a door with Michael Corleone talking to Vito Corleone while he is in the hospital bed. Listen to the conversation carefully. This is the real Marlon Brando talking, recorded while he was hospitalized.

Recommended upgrade priority
Health: The more health, the better.

Streetsmarts: Prolong the victims breaking point (and by doing so, increasing your weekly income earnings). Remember to always try to buy them out first.

Fighting: Increase you negotiation pressure by 10% for each upgrade.

Speed: Not so essential. Only faster reloading is interesting here.

Shooting: For better aiming speed and precision but not essential for taking over businesses.

Recommended weapons
Do not waste money on safe houses. You can make it just fine with the ones you get in the story. Instead, use your money for clothing and weapons. All the best weapons cost a lot but are well worth it. The Saturday Night Special is a better revolver and costs $75,000. The Assassin’s Pistol is better gun and costs about $200,000. The Python is a better magnum and costs $250,000. The Dillinger is a machine gun and costs $450,000. Finally, the Street Sweeper, which works like a shotgun, costs $500,000 and will kill most people in one shot.

The pistol at level 3 works like a semi-automatic gun. It carries fourteen bullets and has more firepower. It is great for taking over businesses. The shotgun at level 3 has more ammunition, more firepower, and is great for taking over warehouses, etc. Prioritize weapons upgrades before safehouse buying. One house in each city is fine at the start. However, you will have to buy them all in the end.

Robbing banks
Depending on the type of bank will determine the easiest way it can be robbed. The type with the three guards and one room is by far the easiest, and should be robbed as often as possible. Use the following trick to rob it without being chased or even getting past two shields. First, bribe the cop outside. Then, go into the bank and choke the first guard by the door. Next, go into the vault area and start strangling the guard on the left. The other guard will come and attack you, but he will not shoot. He will only hit you with his billy club. Remember to strangle the man on the left first because he tends to start shooting with his shotgun if you attack the other guard. If you are robbing the big bank, start the same way by bribing the cop outside. Then, go in and immediately strangle the guards in the main room. Hurry down to the vault and strangle the two guards there. Open the door and blow the vault. Three or four guards will attack you as you flee the vault. Get close to them and shoot them with your Tommy gun to perform an instant execution. After you shoot them, run up the stairs and move to the right. Then, take an immediate right to leave the building where the car is always parked. Get in the car quickly because you will be shot at when outside. Take off and you should not be chased once you hit the streets. After any bank robbery you must go to your hangout to get the money. The best bank to rob is the midtown bank, close to the apartment that the Corleone’s give you after you save Michael. You wll get $50,000 there.

Safes
You must blow up all safes to become Don Of New York City. Blow up all the safes when you are taking over businesses that have one. By doing this you will not have to search for safes after you completed most of the missions. Also, you will get an money, 1,000 Respect, and dynamite by blowing them up.

Shooting enemies behind cover easier
When you are locked onto an enemy who is hiding behind a crate or low object, keep locking on but use the Right Analog-stick to move the crosshair to a part of their body that is sometimes sticking out, like their head or arm. This will help you kill them easier.

Taking over compounds
A good way to take over a compound is to kill everyone from afar then work your way in. The enemies will not respawn as long as you do not leave the area (about one city block). Just hide behind things by crouching, then shoot around corners to get kills. It is also recommended that you upgrade at least two of the pistols (preferably the pistol or sawn off magnum, for quicker shooting).

To take over a compound, equip all of your guns with ammunition, or use a powerful gun to kill other gangsters and take their gun. You should have cover at all times. Note: When behind the bushes to the left of the entrance they can shoot you through the bushes. Once inside, do the same thing and always have cover. Then, run downstairs. In the back house there are two men. One is behind a box and there is another behind a pillar. After those two are dead, set the time bomb (not dynamite). If needed, stay in the basement and die, then drive back and repeat on the other house.

When you are ready to take over a compound, the Tattaglias in northeast Brooklyn is recommended because they may be the weakest family in New York, but that does not mean they are going to be very simple to defeat either. Bring some bombs along and blow up the support pillars in the basements. You may start a mob war, but if you are successful you will have a new safe house with a group of guards.

When trying to take over a compound, use your car to run people over. Then, get out and use it as a shield. Once you are in the yard, kill any enemies. Then if you have a lot of ammunition, take one step into the house and shoot at the floor or person. The enemies should step out as you hide. Shoot them, then continue into the room with the couches. Someone could be hiding behind the couch. Run to the basement and clear it, then plant a bomb. Do the same in the other house.

Stay far away form the gang members guarding the business or compound, enough so that you cannot lock on to them. If you pick them off from a far range, they will not shoot back. You can clear the area without getting shot.
